Suriya is all set to wow his fans with his upcoming film Kanguva. Directed by Siva, the project features Suriya in a dual role as Kanguva and Francis Theodore. While everyone is eagerly awaiting the Tamil superstar’s performance, there is an interesting tidbit about a role Suriya recently expressed interest in. In a recent interview, when asked about a role he would have loved to play in a Malayalam film, Suriya quickly responded that he admired Fahadh Faasil’s character in the 2024 comedy film Aavesham. FYI, Fahadh Faasil plays the role of a local gangster named Ranjith “Ranga” Gangadharan in Aavesham.
Suriya said, “Aavesham. I liked it a lot. The direction was very good. He (Fahadh Faasil) made me laugh. Every time he surprises the audience. You never know what will happen in his movie,” in a chat with Gold FM.
Praising Fahadh Faasil, Suriya added, “I really like that surprise element. And of course, no one brings joy into films like he does. He’s making wonderful films. An actor can give any kind of movie, and Fahadh continues to entertain people in theatres while also pushing boundaries for himself and for his film industry.”
In addition to Fahadh Faasil, Aavesham also featured Hipzster, Mithun Jai Shankar and Roshan Shahnavaz in important roles. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, the film was released in April this year. The project was produced by Nazriya Nazim, Anwar Rasheed and Fahadh Faasil under the banners of Anwar Rasheed Entertainments and Fahadh Faasil and Friends.
Coming back to Suriya’s upcoming film Kanguva, the movie features Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in pivotal roles alongside Suriya. Earlier, Bobby Deol, who is playing the role of Udhiran in Kanguva, shared his experience of working in Suriya. The actor said, “Working with Suriya has always been a dream…He is awesome. He is an amazing actor,” reported news agency ANI.
Directed by Siva, Kanguva is set to hit theatres on November 14. The film is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja, V Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati under the banners of Studio Green and UV Creations.
